Death in Ukraine drone attack( Ukraine ) 

New Delhi: An Indian soldier from Kerala has died in the Russia-Ukraine  ( Ukraine )  war. 32-year-old Binil Babu of Thrissur, Kerala, was recruited in the Russian army and was fighting against Ukraine. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has raised the matter with the Russian government. The ministry said that India has also reiterated its demand for early discharge of other people of the country who have been recruited in the Russian army.

Binil Babu’s family had said that he and a relative were injured in a drone attack. Later they were informed that Babu had died while the relative was undergoing treatment due to serious injuries. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that we have come to know about the unfortunate death of an Indian citizen from Kerala, who was apparently recruited to serve in the Russian army. Another Indian national from Kerala who is recruited in the Russian army has been injured and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Moscow.

Indian Embassy in touch with Russian Embassy

Expressing its condolences to the family of the deceased, Jaiswal said that the Indian Embassy in Moscow is in touch with both the families and is helping them in every possible way. He said that the injured person has also been asked for “early discharge and repatriation to India”. The ministry also said that we are in touch with the Embassy in Moscow and are trying to bring the body to India. We are working with the Russian authorities to bring the body of the youth from Kerala to India at the earliest.
