Let us tell you that after the Army approved 108 vacancies of women officers to command independent units in the Corps of Engineers, Ordinance, EME and other branches, Colonel Geeta Rana has taken command of the EME Independent Workshop. He said that postings of many women officers have already come to the fore and more such lists will come out soon. According to the information, women officers who pass the prescribed standards will be given command roles and they can also be considered for promotion to higher posts in the force in future.
The army has also started deploying women soldiers in joint exercises and peacekeeping missions with friendly countries. Army Chief General Manoj Pandey is in favor of giving every possible opportunity to women officers and soldiers and their entry into the Artillery Regiment is expected to be approved soon.
