China Taiwan Tension: China has taken an aggressive stance since the visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. China fired several ballistic missiles around Taiwan, launching a massive military exercise in response to a visit to Taipei. China has laid siege to Taiwan on the pretext of maneuver and now it is not even caring about the border. On the other hand, America, Australia, Japan have asked China to stop military exercises immediately.
In its military drill, China has launched its largest aircraft carrier warships, nuclear-armed supersonic ballistic missiles, stealth fighter jets, surveillance and spy planes with anti-aircraft guns and attack warships, besides drones.
On the other hand, in view of China’s stand, America, Australia and Japan have urged Dragon to stop their military exercises immediately. The three countries have also reiterated their commitment to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Japan’s Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa issued a joint statement after meeting on the sidelines of a meeting of foreign ministers of ASEAN member states.
America-Japan and Australia worried about China’s aggressive attitude
It said the foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits. He appreciated ASEAN’s statement on the importance of reducing tensions in the Taiwan Strait. The Foreign Ministers expressed concern over the recent actions of the PRC, including conducting large-scale military exercises, that seriously affect international peace and stability, while stressing the need for diplomacy.
