Dhangari (Rajouri). Minutes before a terrorist attack on a house in Dhangari village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, a pet dog’s barking alerted its owner, with the help of which at least three families in the neighborhood were saved from destruction. The officers provided this information. According to officials, four people belonging to the minority Hindu community were killed and six others injured when terrorists fired indiscriminately at four houses in Upper Dhangri village on Sunday.

However, Nirmal Devi’s family can thank their pet ‘Michael’ for saving her life. The dog’s loud barking alerted Nirmal Devi and her granddaughter, who went outside to find out if anything was amiss. They soon heard the rattle of AK-rifles as terrorists who entered the compound opened fire to kill the family.

Nirmal Devi said, “My granddaughter and I were in the kitchen when our pet dog started barking loudly. My granddaughter told me that Michael never barked loudly unless there was danger.” Spotted and barked to warn the family about impending danger.
