New Delhi. After the Corona epidemic, another threat is seen looming over India. Global warming can prove to be a big problem in the way of India’s development. According to a report, due to the changing weather in India, people may have to face scorching heat, heavy floods and severe drought. Due to this, challenges of food and energy security can arise in front of the world’s second most populous country. M. Ravichandran, the top official of the country’s Earth Science Ministry, says that rapid changes are being seen from the weather. The summer is getting hotter and the cold is getting colder.

During the meeting of G20 working group on climate and environment in Bengaluru, M. Ravichandran says that the earth is warming rapidly. Because of this, this trend of change in weather is getting faster every year.

Many people die every year

According to a report by Live Minute, millions of Indians face climate disaster every year due to erratic weather changes. Because of this thousands of people die every year. Due to less agricultural production, people have to face economic difficulties. Also, it increases the demand for fossil fuel and poses a major threat to the source of hydro power. M. Ravichandran, the top official of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, said that the country should plan to deal with such climate change events and invest in climate change measures. He said that the government is also considering alternative sources of energy like wind energy and tidal energy.

Last year the country faced scorching heat

Let us inform that the country had faced severe heat last year. The temperature had reached record levels in many parts. The deadly heat wave affected the power supply and damaged wheat crops. India had to ban the export of food grains at a time when the world was facing a shortage of food grains after the war between Ukraine and Russia. Due to increase in heat, the demand for electricity also increased. Due to increase in supply, India had to import expensive coal. Now before the start of summer, power plants have been asked to import fuel again. Due to the heat wave, there can be a wide change in the rain pattern in India. There may be heavy rains in some places, while there may be drought in other places.
