Patna: Bahubali leader and former Mokama MLA Anant Singh (Anant Singh) came out of Beur Jail in Patna at 5 am on Friday. He did not talk to the media. He left directly for his native village Ladma. On Wednesday, Patna High Court gave a big relief to Anant Singh and acquitted him in the AK-47 case due to lack of evidence.

Lower court had sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment

Patna High Court has released him in the case of AK-47, cartridges and 2 grenades found in his house in Nadwan village of Barh. A case was going on against Anant Singh under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, in which a Patna court had sentenced him to 10 years of imprisonment.

After being convicted, he had to lose his MLA post

Anant Singh, popularly known as ‘Chhote Sarkar’, has been an MLA from Mokama, but after being convicted, he had to lose his MLA post. According to the information, 13 witnesses were presented in this case, while 34 witnesses were presented on behalf of Anant Singh. This case was kept in a special category and a speedy trial was conducted.

Charge sheet was filed on 5 November 2019

This entire case was investigated by the then ASP of Barh subdivision, Lipi Singh, who filed a charge sheet in the court on 5 November 2019. After this decision of Patna High Court, there was a wave of happiness among the supporters of Anant Singh. Anant Singh was given parole before the Lok Sabha elections.
