Prabhakaran: Former Tamil Nadu Congress leader and president of the Curled Confederation of Tamil Pazha Nedumaran has claimed that Velupillai Prabhakaran, the head of the Sri Lankan separatist organization LTTE and the assassin of former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi, is alive. Nedumaran says that Prabhakaran will end the rumors of his death by coming in front of the world very soon. If Nedumaran’s claim turns out to be true, then Sri Lanka will once again prove to be a liar. Earlier, Sri Lankan army has also been tainted due to false claims in the death of Prabhakaran’s son Balachandran.
The Sri Lankan army had claimed that during the military operation against Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam chief Prabhakaran, his son Balachandran Prabhakaran was killed in cross firing. However, the pictures that came out later presented a different story to the world. In these pictures, Balachandran Prabhakaran was eating something surrounded by army soldiers. Then it was told through photographs in the British media that the Sri Lankan army had captured Prabhakaran’s son in a military operation. After that he was given something to eat. After this, he was shot dead.
Sri Lankan army kept repeating its claim
The Sri Lankan army continued to maintain that Balachandran Prabhakaran was a victim of cross-firing during a military operation even after these photographs surfaced. He was not killed intentionally by the army. However, the world never accepted the Sri Lankan army’s claim because of the photographs. Now from Nedumaran’s claim that Prabhakaran is alive and coming in front of the world soon, it seems that the Sri Lankan army and government will prove to be false in this matter also. It was shown in the pictures in the media that Balachandran Prabhakaran was eating something sitting in the army bunker. Then in the second picture his dead body was shown lying on the ground. There were several bullets in his chest. In the documentary ‘No Fire Zone: The Killing Field of Sri Lanka’ made after the incident, it was shown that the Sri Lankan army had killed Balachandran. Also, it was claimed that the army had picked him up by deception. Later he was shot dead. It was claimed in the documentary that Balachandran’s murder was not done carelessly, but was done after thinking. However, on behalf of the Sri Lankan government, it was said that all such claims are false. Due to this, efforts are being made to tarnish the image of Sri Lanka.

Who all confirmed Prabhakaran’s death?
On May 18, 2009, the Sri Lankan government announced the killing of LTTE chief Prabhakaran in a military operation. The then Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremenayake’s government had claimed that Prabhakaran’s death had been confirmed by conducting a DNA test. During that time Mahinda Rajapaksa was the President of Sri Lanka. It was told by the government that Prabharakan was killed on May 17, 2009 in northern Sri Lanka. The next day, Prabhakaran’s dead body was also shown to the media. A week after this, LTTE spokesperson Selvarasa Pathmanathan also confirmed the death of his chief. Prabhakaran’s DNA test was done two weeks after his death.
Army again denied the claim of being alive
The Sri Lankan army has again denied the claims of Prabhakaran being alive and coming to the fore soon. It has been said by the army that Velupillai Prabhakaran, leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, has been killed in a military operation. According to a BBC report, Sri Lankan army spokesman Brigadier Ravi Herath said that Prabhakaran was killed in 2009 in the last phase of the Sri Lankan civil war. There is no doubt about it. The DNA test was also done two weeks after Prabhakaran’s death on May 17, 2009, the last day of the war. It was also clear in this that the one who died is Prabhakaran. He said that we are no longer concerned about the claims of his being alive.
