New Delhi. The Lok Sabha Secretariat has sent a notice to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi regarding his remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament. In this, reply has been sought on the notice of breach of privilege of BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi.
In this notice, Rahul Gandhi has been accused of placing false, contemptuous, unparliamentary and misleading facts against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the Lok Sabha. The Lok Sabha Secretariat has asked Rahul Gandhi to file a reply on these allegations by Wednesday, February 15.
Nishikant Dubey called the allegations misleading
According to the information received, Nishikant Dubey had given a notice of breach of privilege against Rahul Gandhi. Nishikant Dubey wrote, ‘Rahul Gandhi has not presented any duly certified document in support of his statements. Thus, he has made a statement which amounts to misleading the House in the absence of any documentary evidence.’ The BJP MP said his remarks were ‘misleading, defamatory, indecent, unparliamentary, indecent and objectionable in nature’.
Prahlad Joshi demanded removal of all the comments from the House
At the same time, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi had written a letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and said that under Rule 380, some unparliamentary, dishonorable allegations of Rahul Gandhi should be removed from the proceedings of the House. Joshi said that under Rule 353, charges cannot be leveled against a person who is not present in the House to defend himself. He said that under the rules, prior notice has to be given for this and prior permission has to be obtained from the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Joshi said that similarly under Rule 369, any paper shown in the House has to be verified, which the Congress member did not do. Therefore, I request Asan to expunge his remarks from the proceedings and initiate action for breach of privilege against him.
Let us tell you that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, citing the case related to Adani Group, alleged in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that after the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power at the Center in 2014, such a ‘real magic’ happened that within eight years Industrialist Gautam Adani became the second richest person in the world. He said, ‘It has been said in the Hindenburg report that Adani ji has shell companies abroad. Whose money is coming to India from these shell companies?
