Heavy snowfall expected in the mountains

New Delhi. It may rain in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh including Delhi during the next 2 days. Along with this, there may be heavy rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in the plains of northwestern India and snowfall on the mountains during January 24 to 26. Along with this, rain may also occur in East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. According to IMD, there will be an increase of 2-3 degree Celsius in the minimum temperature in many parts of East India during the next three days.

The India Meteorological Department said that from the 24th, rain and snowfall are expected to intensify. There is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on 24 and 25 and in Uttarakhand on 25 and 26 January. During January 24 to 26, there is a possibility of rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. According to the India Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of sporadic hailstorm at many places in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad on 24th.

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of hailstorm in Himachal Pradesh on 24 and 25, West Uttar Pradesh on 25 and Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh during January 24-26. Whereas during January 24 to 26, there is a possibility of light rain and thundershowers in North Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. According to IMD, a new Western Disturbance may affect North West India from January 27. However, the minimum temperature remained in the range of 6-10 degree Celsius in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan, Bihar, East Rajasthan and North-West Madhya Pradesh. No significant change in minimum temperatures likely over most parts of northwest and central India during next 5 days. Minimum temperature will increase by 2-3 degree Celsius over many parts of East India during next 3 days and thereafter there will be no significant change.
