Farmers left out in the loan waiver scheme of 2017 got a gift

Lucknow. On the occasion of New Year, the Yogi government of the state has given a big gift to more than 33 thousand farmers. The government has issued a mandate for loan waiver of up to one lakh of 33408 farmers. In fact, in 2017, due to some technical flaws under the loan waiver scheme of the Yogi government, these farmers could not get the benefit. Now by removing those loopholes, issuing the mandate of loan waiver, the fund has also been released by the government.

UP Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, who reached Varanasi on Saturday, gave this information in a conversation with the media. He told that after the formation of the Yogi government in 2017, the loan waiver was announced. During that time loans of up to one lakh of lakhs of farmers were waived off. But 33408 farmers were deprived of this benefit due to some loopholes. Now the loan of Rs 190 crore will be waived off even for those left out farmers. In this regard, a gazette has been issued by the Yogi government on January 5.

Addressing the press at Circuit House, Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that the year 2023 is going to be celebrated as International Year of Millets.
