WHO will investigate cough syrup

Banjul. The World Health Organization has said that it is investigating Made-in-India cough syrup. 66 children died in The Gambia after drinking this cough syrup. It is being told that India’s Maiden Pharmaceuticals Company had made four cough and cold syrups. These deaths happened because of this. WHO tweeted – WHO issued an alert regarding the medical product. This alert has been issued regarding 4 contaminated drugs found in The Gambia. It is possible that this is related to serious kidney disease and the death of 66 children. The loss of young lives is a shock to their families.

WHO said- These four types of cough and cold syrup have been made by Maiden Pharmaceutical Limited of India. WHO will now investigate this incident together with this company and Indian authorities. The WHO said that at present this contaminated drug has been identified only in The Gambia. That is why the World Health Organization recommends all countries to identify and remove this product. So that, the patients can be saved from harm.
