Youth commits suicide by asking for online sulfas


Indore: In the case of killing an 18-year-old youth in Indore, Madhya Pradesh by asking for online sulfas from Amazon, the police has summoned two officers of Amazon’s business development and information technology departments by sending notices. A police officer gave this information on Sunday.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rajesh Vyas said that on the complaint of his father regarding the incident of a youth of the city committing suicide by asking for online sulfas from Amazon, we have issued notice to two officers of the business development and information technology departments of this company. . The ASP said that through the notice, Amazon officials have been asked to appear before the police on Wednesday. “Once these officers are present, we will inquire from them in detail about the legal aspects of online sale of sulfas on Amazon and verification of sellers of this toxic substance,” he said.

According to the complaint received by the police, Aditya Verma (18), son of Indore-based fruit seller Ranjit Verma, had ordered sulphas online on Amazon in July and committed suicide by consuming the poisonous substance. On November 25, the bereaved father of the youth met State Home Minister Narottam Mishra and pleaded for legal action against the e-commerce giant. After this, the Home Minister had directed the police to register an FIR against the officials of Amazon.

However, in this case, the police is seen to be stepping in. Pawan Singhal, in-charge of Chhatripura police station said that on the complaint of the fruit seller, investigation is going on under the leadership of ASP and no FIR has been registered against Amazon officials at present. Ranjit Verma, the father of the youth who committed suicide, has alleged that Amazon illegally supplied poison in the form of sulfas to his son without verifying the authentic documents of the customer, which he killed by consuming it. According to Verma, some people were allegedly pressurizing his son to clear the dues of Rs 2 lakh due to which he was running under stress.
