Saudi Arabia changes its law

Saudi Arabia: The law of Saudi Arabia is considered very strict in the world, but now the biggest legal reform in history has taken place here. Saudi Arabia has made changes to its law so that the legal system can be further developed. UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has approved these legal reforms, which will strengthen economic and business opportunities, increase social stability, and ensure individual and institutional rights. These new laws will come into force from January 2, 2022.

The most important provision in these legal reforms is that this law will apply to any person who commits or is involved in the premeditated murder of a citizen of Saudi Arabia. Even if the crime took place outside the country. Apart from this, online crimes will be curbed through these laws. Its main objective will be to prevent false news, rumors on social media and protect personal privacy and rights.

These legal reforms include various provisions regarding fake news and false news. Under this, the law empowers the court to confiscate the device, software and content. It has the right to take action against online false and misleading advertisements and promotions. Apart from this, there are also laws related to illegal trading in cryptocurrencies and medical products and supplements.
Under the new laws, the consumption of alcohol in public places or unauthorized places will be considered illegal. Also, the sale and consumption of alcohol by people below 21 years of age has been banned.

These new laws have been brought in Saudi Arabia after discussions at the local and provincial levels. To prepare these laws, the opinion of 540 experts and scholars working in 50 provincial and local authorities have been taken in the last 5 months.
