Many injured in violent demonstration of people on new rules of Corona

Amsterdam. In the Netherlands, people demonstrated violently in protest against the plan for new rules related to the Corona epidemic. During this violent demonstration in Rotterdam on Friday night, many civilians were injured in police retaliation. The mayor of the Dutch city has called the demonstration an orgy of violence. According to the police, two rioters were injured in this demonstration, who were admitted to the hospital after being shot.

The police have arrested 51 people involved in this violent demonstration, out of which 6 are minors. Giving information on Saturday, the police said that a policeman has been admitted to the hospital after he suffered a leg injury.

Clarifying on the police crackdown on the protesters, Mayor Ahmed Abutaleb told the media on Saturday morning that, on many occasions, the police have to use weapons to protect themselves. These protesters pelted stones and arson at the police in Port City, Central Shopping District.

The mayor told that, during this time the police fired in the air, warning the people. In this incident some protesters were shot and people were injured. In this case, the police will investigate the video footage and arrest more people.

This is the second violent demonstration in the Netherlands against the restrictions related to the corona virus. Earlier in January this year, rioters attacked the police and started arson. After which curfew had to be imposed to bring the situation under control.

The Law Minister of the Netherlands has condemned this violent demonstration and the attack on the police. He said that it is the right of every citizen of our society to protest, but what happened last night was criminal behavior, it cannot be called a protest.
