Washington: The stenographer of the White House (Rashtrapati Bhavan) is sweating while typing the public remarks of US President Donald Trump. (Trump ) The situation is such that the recruitment of additional stenographers is being considered to deal with the increasing workload. Officials familiar with the matter gave this information on the condition of anonymity.
How much did Trump speak?
Trump spoke more than 22,000 words in public events during his swearing-in ceremony on January 20. After this, on January 24, during his visit to the storm-affected areas in North Carolina and the areas battling forest fires in California, he spoke about 17,000 words.
The stenographer’s fingers are tired
Officials familiar with the matter said that the White House stenographer’s ears and fingers are badly tired of listening to and typing the comments made by Trump in public appearances. He said that former President Joe Biden was not in the habit of speaking much, due to which the White House stenographer is feeling even more workload after Trump took over the presidency. According to officials, in view of the increasing workload, the recruitment of additional stenographers is being considered in the White House.
Former President Joe Biden spent two hours and 36 minutes talking on camera in the first week of his presidential term in 2021 and spoke a total of 24,259 words. According to the website, Trump spent seven hours and 44 minutes speaking in front of the camera in the first week of his second term as president and during this time he spoke a total of 81,235 words. The website said that the time Trump spent in front of the camera is equivalent to watching three films of the ‘Star Wars’ series one after the other, with some time left over. It said that the total words spoken by the President in the first week are more than the total words of ‘Macbeth’, ‘Hamlet’ and ‘Richard III’. (AP)
