Hearing is to be held in the case of banning worship in Vyas ji’s basement in Gyanvapi complex of Varanasi. The Supreme Court will hear this case on 23 July. The Anjuman ( Anjuman) Intezamia Committee of the Muslim side has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the decision of the Allahabad High Court.
The High Court had refused to ban
In the last hearing, the Supreme Court had refused to stay the decision of the Allahabad High Court. The court had issued a notice to the trial court petitioner Shailendra Vyas on the petition of the mosque side against worship in Vyas ji’s basement.
The district court had given permission
The District Court of Varanasi had given permission to worship in the basement of Vyas ji. Against this, the Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee had filed a petition in the High Court. However, the High Court refused to stay the decision of the district court.
The committee therefore approached the Supreme Court
After this, the Anjuman Intezamia Committee has approached the Supreme Court. A demand has been made by the Anjuman Intezamia Committee to ban worship in the basement of Vyas ji. The Supreme Court is now going to hear this matter on July 13.
Hearing was also held in April 2024 in this case
Let us tell you that in April 2024, in this case, the Supreme Court refused to stay the decision of the Allahabad High Court. After this, worship continues in the basement of Vyas ji in Gyanvapi. The District Court of Varanasi had granted permission to worship in the basement of Vyas ji of Gyanvapi. Against this, the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee had filed a petition in the High Court. However, the High Court refused to stay the decision of the district court. The matter is to be heard again in the Supreme Court
