Will there be a military coup in Pakistan?

The first coup in India’s neighboring country Pakistan took place only after a few years of independence. Now the same thing can happen once again in Pakistan. Pakistan’s army is now disillusioned with Prime Minister Imran Khan. Now there has been a coup attempt against Imran Khan’s government. There are three big reasons for this.

First- Imran Khan’s relations with Pakistan’s army have completely deteriorated. Secondly, the government of Pakistan has bowed down in front of radical Islamic organizations. Third- Inflation is at its peak in Pakistan.

Now let us analyze these three reasons one by one. Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum has been appointed as the new head of Pakistan’s intelligence agency IISI. In Pakistan, ISI, along with the army, takes most of the major decisions about the country. However, Imran Khan is not happy with the appointment of Nadeem Anjum as IIK chief. It is said that he took three weeks to approve the name of Nadeem Anjum.

Nadeem Anjum will replace former IIK chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed, who is considered very close to Imran Khan. Faiz Hameed played a big role in making Imran Khan’s party win the election in 2018. Next year i.e. in the year 2022, Pakistan’s Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa is retiring and elections are to be held in Pakistan in the next year i.e. in the year 2023. Imran Khan wanted Faiz Hameed to be made the new army chief and in return Faiz Hameed should help him win the 2023 election. Pakistan’s army was not ready for this and this plan of Imran Khan became useless.

Meanwhile, the government of Pakistan also surrendered to the radical organization Tehrike Labback Pakistan ie TLP. This is the same organization that had organized a tremendous protest against France on the streets of Lahore a few months ago. In fact, the President of France had called the cartoons of Prophet Mohammed as freedom of expression and supported it. Since then, this organization has been demanding that the French ambassador be sent back from Pakistan and all trade relations with France should be ended.

TLP supporters had blocked and occupied many roads in Pakistan for several months. After this the leader of this organization, Saad Hussain Rizvi was arrested and this organization was also banned. Now once again the people of this organization have come out on the streets and have started demanding the release of their leader. Instead of taking strict action against this radical organization, the government of Pakistan bowed before it. More than 2 thousand of its supporters were released from jails and the ban on it was also lifted.

Apart from this, the third reason is the increasing inflation in Pakistan. The prices of sugar, petrol and electricity are touching the sky in Pakistan. Electricity prices have increased by Re 1 60 paise per unit. In Pakistan, one kilogram of sugar is being available for Rs 107, while the price of petrol has exceeded Rs 145 per liter.

People are saying that Imran Khan’s Naya Pakistan has become an expensive Pakistan. The rate of inflation in Pakistan is the highest in 70 years. In Pakistan, inflation is expected to increase like this for the next 6 months. It is believed that all these reasons together can destabilize Imran Khan’s government.

The leader of Pakistan’s opposition party PML (Nawaz) and Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz is holding big rallies against Imran Khan in Pakistan. Experts believe that it is very difficult for Imran Khan’s party to win in the next election. The history of Pakistan is a witness to the fact that whenever there is political instability, the army gets an opportunity to overthrow.
