New Delhi. Icy winds further increased the chill in Delhi on Wednesday. People remained troubled by cold throughout the day. Light sunshine came out but it did not provide any relief. As a result, while the maximum temperature was four degrees below normal, in seven areas it was 4.5 to six degrees below normal.
That is why there was a cold day situation there. Wednesday was also recorded as the coldest day of the season. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for Thursday.

The humidity level in the air was recorded at 94 to 60 percent. SPS Mayur Vihar was the coldest area of Delhi. The maximum temperature recorded there was 12.3 degrees. The lowest minimum temperature was 6.2 degrees in Aya Nagar.

Cold winds are coming from north-west direction
According to the Meteorological Department, cold winds are coming from the north-west direction in Delhi due to which there is chill. On Wednesday the wind speed was four to 10 kilometers per hour. Meteorologists say that the same situation will remain in Delhi on Thursday also.

There will be moderate fog in the morning while the sky will be clear during the day. Cold day conditions will persist in many places. For the next two days, the maximum temperature will be around 16 degrees while the minimum temperature will be seven to eight degrees. There is a possibility of some relief from January 7. From seven to nine the maximum temperature will be 18 to 19 degrees while the minimum will be around eight to nine degrees. There are also chances of light rain on January 9.( January 9)

According to the Meteorological Department, when the daytime temperature is recorded 4.5 degrees or more below normal, it is called a cold day. Similarly, when the minimum temperature is recorded at 4.5 degrees or below normal, then it is a cold wave condition.
