Navy chiefs of 12 countries will participate in the maritime conference of the Indian Navy


New Delhi: Navy chiefs from 12 countries of the Indian Ocean region will participate in the three-day maritime conference being organized by the Indian Navy in Goa from Sunday. This information was given in an official release. According to a statement issued by the Indian Navy, this will be the third edition of the Goa Maritime Conference (GMC-21). It will be based on discussions held during Goa Maritime Symposium-21 held in May this year.

The theme of the GMC-21 will be ‘Maritime Security and Emerging Non-Traditional Threats: A Case of Proactivity for the Navies of the Indian Ocean Region’, the statement said. This theme has been kept keeping in mind the need to establish daily peace in the sea. “At GMC-21, Indian Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh will host the Chiefs of Naval Staff or Chiefs of Marine Forces of 12 countries in the Indian Ocean region, including Bangladesh, Comoros, Indonesia, Malaysia, Madagascar, Maldives, Mauritius, Myanmar, Seychelles, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand.” Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar and Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla will address the GMC-21.
