Gill’s century turned upside down(century )

New Delhi. After the captaincy innings of Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh defeated India by 6 runs in a thrilling match on the basis of excellent performance by the bowlers. Team India could not achieve the target of 266 runs. Team India collapsed for 259 runs with 1 ball remaining. Shubman Gill scored a brilliant century,  (century ) despite this the Indian team had to face defeat before the final. Bangladesh has defeated India for the third time in the last 4 ODIs. However, this match was just a formality for Team India because the Indian team has already made it to the finals where it will face Sri Lanka on Sunday.

India had made 5 changes in this match. Before the final, the Indian team had given rest to its 5 main players. While Gill played a century for Team India, Akshar Patel was out after scoring 42 runs. Suryakumar contributed 26 runs. For Bangladesh, pacer Mustafizur Rahman took 3 wickets while debutant Tanzeem Hasan Shakib and Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 2 wickets each.

24 year old Shubman Gill completed his century in 117 balls. He hit 6 fours and 4 sixes in his century innings. Gill played an innings of 121 runs in 133 balls. This is the sixth century of Gill’s ODI career. He has scored 6 international centuries so far this year 2023. During this, he left behind Virat Kohli, who has scored 5 centuries in international cricket so far this year.

Bangladesh scored 265 runs for 8 wickets
Earlier, captain Shakib Al Hasan (80 runs) and Tauhid Hriday (54 runs) scored half-centuries, due to which Bangladesh scored a good score of 265 runs for 8 wickets. After being invited to bat, Bangladesh had lost four wickets for 59 runs but Shakib led the team by scoring 80 runs in 85 balls and Tauhid supported him well by scoring 54 runs in 81 balls.

Jadeja completes double century of wickets
Ravindra Jadeja (53/1) became the second Indian cricketer to score more than 2,000 runs and take 200 or more wickets in ODIs by taking one wicket. But India achieved two goals from this match, one, this performance was enough to show Sri Lanka its preparation for the final and second, due to the performance of the potential players, the team management also got the availability of its ‘back up’ players for any situation. But he became convinced. In this, Shami’s performance with the new ball will be a good sign for him because this experienced fast bowler made a great start and uprooted the stumps of Liton Das.
