‘Malabar’ drill in Australia

New Delhi. Quad was formed after India, US, Japan and Australia came together to curb China’s maritime hegemony and stop its frivolous use of freedom of navigation and since then China has been suffocated in blue waters Started feeling But this month his suffocation is going to increase further as the Navy of the Quad countries is going to exercise ‘Malabar‘(‘Malabar’)  in Australia.

This is the first time that Australia is hosting suffocation is going to increase further as the Navy of the Quad countries is going to exercise ‘Malabar’ in Australia. this multinational military exercise. This exercise is being conducted in the sea near Sydney from 11 to 22 August. To participate in this exercise, INS Kolkata and INS Shahyadri have also left for Sydney to participate in the maneuvers of the Indian Navy. Apart from this, the Indian Navy’s long-range reconnaissance P8I, also known as Submarine Hunter, is also participating.

In this exercise, with the coordination between all the four navies, rapid deployment, that is, in view of the war, how to deploy which warships at what time and where… and to strengthen the coordination between the navies of the quad countries. Apart from this, all navies will also share their strategy and expertise on Anti Submarine Warfare, Anti Surface Warfare. This exercise will be conducted in two phases. First- Harbor phase in which strategy will be prepared for the exercise and in the second phase it will be executed at sea.

In this multi-national exercise, coordination and coordination between the navies of all countries has to be carried out, advanced surface and submarine warfare exercises and firing drills have to be carried out. For the first time, Australia is hosting this exercise, where there will also be an exercise to choke China’s alternative route of energy trade.

Malabar exercise started in 1992 between India and America. After that Japan joined in 2015 and then Australia in 2020. For the first time Australia is hosting this multinational military exercise. Earlier last year, it was hosted by Japan, in which the US was represented by its Carrier Battle Group USS Ronald Reagan, which is a Nimitz class nuclear powered super carrier.

Already in view of the antics of China, India and America along with Japan have been carrying out the Malabar exercise and for the last three years Australia is also a part of this Malabar naval exercise. Australia’s maritime territory is also important because if it chokes Chinese energy trade through the Malacca Strait in case of war or tension, Beijing will be forced to divert its energy trade from below Australia.

Although it will be a very expensive deal for China, it may be forced to choose this alternative route to meet its needs, and in such a situation, the Malabar exercise in Australia will give a clear message to China that if If it does not ban the wasteful use of navigation, then its alternative way of energy trade can be banned.
