Bhopal. A passenger traveling in Vande Bharat ( vande bharat ) Express train in Madhya Pradesh was shocked when he saw a cockroach in his roti. The food was served to him by the catering staff of IRCTC. The incident took place when the passenger was going from Bhopal to Gwalior. The passenger shared the photo of the cockroach in the food on Twitter, which is becoming increasingly viral on social media. After which people expressed displeasure over the food served by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation.
In the pictures shared by Subodh Pahljan on Twitter, insects are shown sticking to rotis. The passenger took to Twitter to express his disappointment. He tagged @IRCTCofficial and used hashtags like #Vandebharatexpress and #VandeBharat. Pahlajan wrote, ‘@IRCTCofficial found cockroach in his food in Vande Bharat train.
Quickly resolving the complaint, IRCTC requested the passenger’s PNR number and replied, ‘We deeply regret your unpleasant experience. Be assured, appropriate action will be taken to avoid any such incident in future.
This is one of the many incidents that have brought to light concerns about the quality and facilities of food in the Railways. It is imperative that Indian Railways and IRCTC undertake a thorough review of their food services to ensure that such lapses do not recur.
