How Dr. Tomio Mizokami got attracted towards Hindi
Actually, Dr. Tomio Mizokami, who speaks in Hindi, is a Japanese scholar, who has also received Padma Shri from the Government of India. Professor Emeritus at Osaka University’s Graduate School of Foreign Studies, Dr. Tomio Mizokami is a renowned writer and linguist. He has deep knowledge of Hindi and Punjabi languages. Dr. Tomio Mizokami was awarded the Padma Shri in 2018 for his contribution to the promotion of Indian literature and culture in Japan.
Dr. Mizokami initiated Hindi conference in Japan
Dr. Mizokami has considered the conversation with PM Modi as one of the most special moments. He said that he urged PM Modi that the next ‘World Hindi Conference’ should be organized in Japan. On the question of his interest in Hindi language, the professor said that I was born in the Japanese city of Kobe, which at that time was largely dominated by the Indian population. I was impressed by him and was also curious to know about his language.

During the meeting with PM Modi, he also talked about the influence of Nehru. He said that he was a fan of former PM Jawaharlal Nehru.
