Delhi: The Ranji Trophy is currently being played between Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. Three Delhi batsmen scored half-centuries in this match, while eight players managed a combined total of just 20 runs. Consequently, Delhi was bundled out for just 211 runs in the first innings. Aaqib Nabi took the highest five wickets for Jammu and Kashmir. Delhi’s batsmen were completely ineffective against the Jammu and Kashmir bowlers, (bowler) who were getting swing and seam movement.
Delhi’s batsmen failed to perform well
Delhi had a poor start when Arpit Rana was dismissed without scoring. Sanat Sangwan (12) also failed to perform well. Arpit was caught by Nabi off a delivery from the bowler, caught by Abdul Samad in the slips. Yash Dhull (01) was a bit unlucky as Sunil’s delivery deflected significantly and didn’t take the outside edge, but he was adjudged out. Sangwan’s wicket was taken by left-arm spinner Vansh Sharma.
Three batsmen scored centuries
Captain Ayush Badoni (64 off 82 balls) and Ayush Doseja (65 off 143 balls) added 104 runs for the fourth wicket. This raised Delhi’s hopes of a big score, but Doseja added another 68 runs with all-rounder Sumit Mathur (55 not out). Both Badoni and Doseja failed to convert their half-centuries into triple figures. Mathur looked in good form and remained undisputed at the other end. Delhi’s batsmen failed miserably against Aaqib Nabi’s bowling and failed to perform well.
For Delhi team, Arpit Rana, Anuj Rawat, Manan Bhardwaj, Simarjeet Singh, Mani Grewal could not even open their account. Whereas Hrithik Shaukeen (7 runs) and Yash Dhull (1 run), Sanat Sangwan scored 12 runs. These 8 players could score only 20 runs in total. Jammu Kashmir team has so far scored 31 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. The team is currently trailing Delhi by 180 runs. Simarjeet Singh has taken all the three wickets for Delhi. On his strength, Delhi has tried to make a comeback to some extent.
