T20 World Cup 2026: The second day      ( second day )  of the T20 World Cup 2026 was full of excitement. The second match of the day, between England and Nepal, was a match that cricket fans will remember for years. It was a thrilling match, with England winning on the last ball. In the first match of the day, Afghanistan lost despite scoring over 180 runs against New Zealand. In the third match, Sri Lanka registered an easy victory against Ireland.

New Zealand chased down the target of 183 runs
New Zealand started their campaign in Group D of the ICC T20 World Cup with a win, defeating Afghanistan by 5 wickets. Afghanistan, batting first, scored 182 for six in 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant half-century from veteran Gulbadin Naib (63). Chasing the target of 183, New Zealand, thanks to opener and wicketkeeper Tim Seifert’s 65 off 42 balls, reached 183 for five in 17.5 overs to win the match. Seifert received the Player of the Match award for his brilliant batting.

England defeated Nepal in a thrilling match
The second match of the day, played between England and Nepal, was the most exciting. England won this match by a narrow four-run victory against Nepal. Nepal came very close to making history by making an upset in this match, but ultimately crumbled under pressure. England, batting first, scored 184 for seven. In response, Nepal managed to score 180 for six. Nepal needed 10 runs to win in the last over, but Sam Curran bowled brilliantly, giving away only five. Nepal had high hopes from Lokesh Baham. He scored 39 runs off 20 balls but could not take the team to victory.

Sri Lanka registers easy win against Ireland
In the sixth match of the T20 World Cup 2026, Sri Lanka defeated Ireland by 20 runs. Ireland won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first, Sri Lanka posted a score of 163 for six after 20 overs. Kusal Mendis scored an unbeaten 56 off 43 balls, hitting five fours. Kamindu Mendis scored 44 off 19 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes. In reply, Ireland were all out for 143 in 19.5 overs. None of the Irish batsmen could score a significant innings.
