Indian Cricket Team: Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, the defending champions Indian team had a spectacular start to the T20 World Cup 2026, defeating the USA team by 29 runs in their first Group A match. After losing the toss, Team India batted first and scored 161 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs, with captain Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeaten 84-run innings playing a crucial role. The USA team, chasing the target, could only manage 132 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Axar Patel were the standout bowlers for the Indian team. Team India also shattered South Africa’s        (South Africa )     Nrecord for consecutive wins in the T20 World Cup. This is India’s 9th consecutive win in the tournament, while the previous record was held by South Africa, who had won 8 consecutive matches in the T20 World Cup.

USA Batsmen Crumble Against Siraj, Axar, and Arshdeep
The USA team was given a target of 161 runs to win this match, but their start was quite poor. In the second over itself, the USA team suffered its first setback in the form of Andries Gous, who fell victim to Mohammed Siraj after scoring just 6 runs. By the time the score reached 13, the USA team had lost two more wickets, those of captain Monank Patel and Saiteja Mukkamalla. From there, Milind Kumar and Sanjay Krishnamurthi tried to stabilize the innings, taking the score to 31 runs in the first 6 overs. Following this, a 58-run partnership for the fourth wicket was seen between the two.

Milind Kumar, after scoring 34 runs in this match, became the victim of Varun Chakravarthy.
