Preserving Heritage Alongside Development is Our Priority: CM

Local representatives and citizens of Haridwar, led by MLA Pradeep Batra and former MLA Yatishwaranand, met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence in the Mukhya Sevak Sadan to express their gratitude for the renaming of various places in the state in accordance with public sentiment.

During the meeting, local representatives and prominent citizens stated that Chief Minister Dhami has brought about changes in symbols of a colonial mindset, aligning them with Indian culture and traditions. They noted that over the past three years, the Chief Minister has taken several historic decisions.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami remarked that the renaming of various places was done keeping in mind public sentiment and the identity of Indian culture. He emphasized that the heritage passed down by our ancestors is what we are working to carry forward.

He further stated that the government will never hesitate to take decisions that are in the interest of the state, its people, and Indian culture. The Chief Minister highlighted that both the country and the state are undergoing a period of significant transformation. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, just as India’s name is resonating on the global stage, similarly, inspired by the Prime Minister, the Uttarakhand government has made historic decisions over the past three years that have set an example for other states as well.

During the event, Haridwar District Panchayat President Kiran Chaudhary, former MLA Deshraj Karnwal, and Pranav Kunwar Champion, along with people associated with various regions of Haridwar, were present.
