According to the information received, this step has been taken to prevent the spread of rumors. Along with Murshidabad, internet services will remain shut down in some places in Malda and Birbhum as well.
How long will the internet remain shut?
Internet services will remain shut down in these areas from today (Sunday) till 10 pm on April 15 (Tuesday). Despite the internet services being shut down, phone calls can be made and SMS can be sent. Actually, the reason for shutting down internet services in Malda and Birbhum is that if no action is taken, rumors can spread in the respective places in these two districts. Therefore, as a precaution, it has been decided to shut down internet services in some areas of Malda and Birbhum.
What happened in Murshidabad?
There was a violent protest against the Waqf Act in Murshidabad, West Bengal, during which the miscreants entered the house on Saturday and killed a father and son. On Friday also, a young man died due to bullet injuries. So far 3 people have lost their lives in this violence and 15 policemen are also injured. After this violence, a large number of security forces have been deployed here.

Violence took place in Murshidabad today too and a young man was injured in the firing. He has been admitted to the hospital. BSF jawans have been accused of the attack. It was said that 2 to 3 rounds of bullets were fired by the BSF. Due to this violence, BJP has made a shocking claim. BJP has said that after this tension, more than 400 Hindus have been forced to flee from their homes.
