Kolkata: The case of gangrape and murder of a trainee student in RG Kar Medical College shook everyone. Meanwhile, once again a gangrape of a student has been witnessed in Kolkata. This time a student of Kasba Law College in South Kolkata has been gangraped. ( gangrape ) Kasba police has arrested three accused in this case. Of these, 2 are students of the college while one is an alumnus of the college. Now politics has also started after this incident. Opposition parties have targeted the government fiercely.
‘Not just rape, political cruelty’
BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya shared a post on X regarding this matter. In the post, he has also uploaded the picture of the entire statement given by the victim. Amit Malviya wrote, ‘M means Manojit Mishra, J means Zaib Ahmed and P means Prameet Mukherjee, all three are accused in the Kasba rape case. Read what the victim has written in her complaint. The guard posted in the college’s guard room was asked to leave so that the accused could molest her. The victim asked the guard for help, but he refused. The union room was locked from inside, where she was asked to prove loyalty to TMC. She was hit with a hockey stick, her boyfriend was threatened to be murdered. This is not just rape, but politically based cruelty, which has been done under the banner of TMC’s student politics.’
“Girls are not safe in educational institutions”
Apart from this, BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar said that this shows that girls are not safe in the educational institutions of the state. Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar alleged that despite CM Mamata Banerjee handling the work of the Police (Home) Department in West Bengal, the law and order situation in the state is very bad. The BJP state president said, “After the rape-murder of a female trainee doctor in a top medical college like RG Kar Hospital, now a gang rape incident has come to light in a law college in the city.”
“CM Mamata should resign”
At the same time, Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Shubhendu Adhikari said that a protest will be organized on a large scale in connection with this crime. He said, “CM Mamata Banerjee has no right to remain in her chair. She should resign.” He alleged that senior Kolkata Police officials are in Digha, where the CM is participating in the Rath Yatra from the newly built Jagannath temple. Shubhendu Adhikari said that I demand that this matter be investigated properly and impartially and settled as soon as possible. The accused should get the harshest punishment, no matter which political party they belong to.
“TMC is protecting the criminals by saying that they are being punished”
BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi said, “Ever since the Trinamool Congress came to power in West Bengal, the systematic rapes of the sisters and daughters of Bengal have started and they are not stopping. Once again, a similar incident has come to light. Whether it is the case of Sandeshkhali, RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata Law College or any other school in Bengal, it seems that under Mamata Banerjee’s rule, rape and atrocities against the sisters and daughters of Bengal have become a very easy and normal thing. This is a matter of concern because in most of the cases, some or the other connection of those criminals with the ruling parties is clearly visible. This makes it clear that instead of punishing these criminals, the Trinamool Congress government is protecting them. In this sad moment, the BJP stands with every sister and daughter who is a victim of crime committed under the political protection of the Trinamool Congress.”
“Are girls not safe in West Bengal?”
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said on the incident, “What happened with the law college student in Kolkata is very painful and serious. Earlier, a similar incident happened with a doctor of Kolkata Medical College. Are girls not safe in West Bengal? CM Mamata Banerjee herself is a woman and she has failed to ensure the safety of women in the state. Her government is not serious about this issue. When the assembly elections will be held, BJP and NDA will form the government.”
What did Kalyan Banerjee say?
However, TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee said, “I am not in favor of the incident that happened in the law college. Some people commit such a crime, but what can be done if a friend rapes his friend. Will there be police in schools? This is what the students did to another girl student. Who will protect her (victim)? This (South Calcutta Law College) is a government college. Will the police always be there?”
“BJP stopped Aparajita Bill”
West Bengal government minister Shashi Panja said, ‘Kolkata police arrested the accused within 12 hours. I want to tell the girl’s family that she should get justice. Those who are politically bankrupt are doing politics. They are doing politics on social media. Aparajita Bill has been passed in the assembly. Provision of maximum punishment has been made. BJP has stopped this bill.’ Apart from this, TMC leader Jayprakash Majumdar hit back at the opposition leader and said, “I
