Raipur: The Indian team won the ODI series against South Africa 2-1. India won the first match of the series by 17 runs. After that, South Africa made a comeback in the second ODI match and won the match by four wickets. Then, India won the third and final match by 9 wickets and clinched the series. Now, the ICC has fined the Indian team (Indian Team ) 10 percent of their match fee for slow over-rate in the second ODI match played in Raipur.

ICC Elite Panel Match Referee Richie Richardson imposed this fine on the Indian team, captained by KL Rahul, because the team bowled two overs less than the stipulated time in the second ODI match. The action taken against the Indian team is in accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which relates to minimum over-rate offenses.
Captain KL Rahul Accepted the Charge
Captain KL Rahul accepted both the charge and the fine. Therefore, there was no need for a formal hearing. If a team bowls one over less than the stipulated time, it is fined five percent of its match fee. The Indian team bowled two overs less, which is why they were fined 10 percent.
Kohli and Gaikwad Scored Centuries
In the second ODI match, the Indian cricket team, batting first, posted a massive score of 358 runs. Virat Kohli and Ruturaj Gaikwad scored centuries for the team. It was because of these players that the team reached such a big score. Kohli scored 102 runs, while Gaikwad played an innings of 105 runs. After that, Aiden Markram proved to be the biggest hero for the African team, scoring 110 runs and leading his team to victory. Markram was given the Player of the Match award for his excellent performance.
