Kolkata: The first Test      ( Test. )    between India and South Africa is being played at the historic Eden Gardens Cricket Ground in Kolkata. Batting first, the African team was bundled out for just 159 runs. South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada missed the first match due to an injury. Now, his participation in the second Test, starting November 22nd, is in jeopardy.

South Africa’s team management has confirmed that his injury is being evaluated. Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada suffered a rib injury during the first training session on Tuesday and, after undergoing several medical tests, has been forced to withdraw from the ongoing first Test at Eden Gardens. The team’s media manager stated that Kagiso Rabada underwent a scan on Wednesday morning and then a fitness test this morning. He felt a little unwell, which ruled him out of the match. When asked about his chances of returning to the second Test in Guwahati from November 22nd, the manager stated that he is still undergoing further evaluation with the medical team. His absence has led to the inclusion of Corbin Bosch, who is playing in only his fourth Test, in the playing eleven.

Rabada’s participation in the second Test uncertain!
The South African team management’s statements clearly indicate that Kagiso Rabada is not fully fit yet and is expected to be fit soon. Therefore, Rabada’s participation in the second Test remains uncertain. Rabada remains a key cog in the South African team, having taken a total of 340 wickets in 73 Test matches.

African batsmen flopped
The Indian batsmen failed miserably in the first innings of the first Test against India. Aiden Markram scored the most runs for the team with 31 runs. Wiaan Mulder and Tony de Giorgi each scored 24 runs. Jasprit Bumrah took the most wickets for the Indian team with five.
