Gill advised to rest  ( Gill )

Shubman Gill: After the defeat in the first match against South Africa, Team India may face another major setback. The Indian captain’s participation in the second Test appears unlikely. Gill    ( Gill )  was injured during the first Test. He retired hurt in the first innings of the first Test in Kolkata due to neck spasms. He had to be hospitalized. Gill has been discharged from the hospital, but his participation in the second Test remains doubtful. Sources within the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) have confirmed that Gill will not travel with the team to Guwahati on November 19th, indicating his serious condition.

Gill has been suffering from severe neck pain for the past few days. The medical team has advised him to wear a neck collar, take complete rest for three to four days, and avoid any air travel. In such a situation, it seems impossible for him to reach Guwahati with the team.

Gill advised to rest
A source told PTI that immediate travel could be risky due to his neck injury. Therefore, doctors have advised him not to change cities or take long flights. “We are continuously monitoring his recovery and will have complete clarity by November 18th.”

Team India will fly to Guwahati on Wednesday, where the second and decisive Test of the two-match series begins on Saturday. In the first Test, India failed to achieve a modest target of 124 runs in the fourth innings and lost by 30 runs. Gill’s absence weakened the team’s batting in that match as well, and now his exclusion before the second Test could pose a problem for India.

Waiting for Gill’s Medical Report
If Shubman Gill is not fit in time, Team India has the option of including B. Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal. Both young batsmen have performed strongly in domestic cricket, but this will be a big test for them at the Test level. All eyes are now on the medical report, as the captain’s absence could have a significant impact on India’s strategy and batting balance.
