Ferozepur: A case of firing on a former Congress MLA (Congress MLA ) has come to light in the district. There is an atmosphere of sensation in the area after this incident. Former Congress MLA Kulbir Singh Zira on Tuesday claimed that unknown people fired on his car. According to the claim, when he was going from Ferozepur to Zira city on Monday night, some unknown people fired bullets on his car near Sher Khan village. At present the police is investigating the matter.
Car chased
District Congress Committee (DCC) President Kulbir Singh Zira said that he was returning from Ferozepur. Former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira claimed, “When our car reached near Sher Khan village, my driver told me that a car was following us continuously. We stopped our car near the village and the car that was following us also stopped right behind us.”
Six rounds of firing
He further said, “Then, I asked my driver to drive the car at a fast speed, but the other car was following us continuously and suddenly someone started firing targeting my car. In total, six bullets were fired at my car.” Kulbir Singh Zira, who has been an MLA from Zira seat, said that he has provided CCTV footage of the car that was following him.
Received threats earlier too
The former MLA claimed, “I have been receiving threats from gangsters earlier too.” At the same time, a complaint has also been made to the police in this matter. Giving information, Superintendent of Police Randhir Kumar said that the police had received a call on the emergency number. He said that the police is verifying the facts and the matter is being investigated.
