Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians: The third match of the 18th season of the Indian Premier League was played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK )    and Mumbai Indians at CSK’s home ground Chepauk. Hardik Pandya did not play in this match due to a one-match ban and Suryakumar Yadav captained Mumbai Indians in his place. Under his captaincy, Mumbai Indians had to face defeat in the very first match of the season. In the match, Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Mumbai team scored 155 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Tilak Verma scored the highest 31 runs for Mumbai. At the same time, Deepak Chahar returned unbeaten after scoring 28 runs in 15 balls. Noor Ahmed took 4 wickets for Chennai. Khaleel Ahmed took 3 wickets. CSK achieved this target in 19.1 overs.
