Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians: The third match of the 18th season of the Indian Premier League was played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK )    and Mumbai Indians at CSK’s home ground Chepauk. Hardik Pandya did not play in this match due to a one-match ban and Suryakumar Yadav captained Mumbai Indians in his place. Under his captaincy, Mumbai Indians had to face defeat in the very first match of the season. In the match, Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Mumbai team scored 155 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Tilak Verma scored the highest 31 runs for Mumbai. At the same time, Deepak Chahar returned unbeaten after scoring 28 runs in 15 balls. Noor Ahmed took 4 wickets for Chennai. Khaleel Ahmed took 3 wickets. CSK achieved this target in 19.1 overs. For Chennai, Rachin Ravindra returned unbeaten after scoring 65 runs in 45 balls. He was the highest run scorer for the team. Apart from him, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad played a brilliant innings of 53 runs in 26 balls.
