Maharashtra: The controversy that started in Maharashtra with the name of Aurangzeb ( Aurangzeb’) is not stopping and now the situation has reached to demolishing Aurangzeb’s grave. In the budget session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also spoke on the issue of Aurangzeb’s grave. He said that we also feel that Aurangzeb’s grave should be removed, the grave got ASI protection during the Congress rule, some things have to be done legally. It has also come to light that after the controversy, the number of people visiting this grave has decreased. Security has been increased near Aurangzeb’s tomb in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have demanded from the state government that Aurangzeb’s tomb should be removed. Politics is intensifying over Aurangzeb’s grave
On the other hand, Shiv Sena Shinde leader Sanjay Shirsat has said that this issue should not be seen as a Hindu-Muslim conflict, because there has been no protest from any community. He said, “Whenever I pass by there and see that grave, I get angry. We did not break the symbols of love, then why keep the symbol of hatred?”
On the demand of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and RSS to remove Aurangzeb’s grave, NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule said, “This is not a matter of any party. This is a historical matter… Politicians should not interfere in this, let the experts decide. This is a matter of history and let the historians speak about it. I urge the Maharashtra government not to get involved in this and let the experts speak about it. They should focus on the corruption, which is prevalent in the state…”
Ramdas Athawale said this
On the ongoing demand to remove Aurangzeb’s grave in Maharashtra, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said Aurangzeb was a mean and cruel man, he killed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and threw his body parts in a village named Vadu in Pune district of Maharashtra. After which, Govind Marne of Mahar community collected the pieces of his body and cremated Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s body, we read this history.
After the release of the film Chhava, the whole country saw the atrocities committed by Aurangzeb on Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. This has angered people a lot, the demand to remove Aurangzeb’s grave is now gaining momentum. We have to tell CM Fadnavis and both the Deputy CMs that there should be no dispute between the Hindu-Muslim community of the state and no law and order situation should arise and a decision should be taken on this soon.
