London: The England and Wales Cricket Board made a big announcement on July 30 and informed that the owners of four Indian Premier League teams have bought stakes in The Hundred to become strategic partners of the team. The ownership partners in The Hundred include India’s GMR, Sun TV Network Limited, RPSG Group and Reliance Group. The ECB said that this agreement will give more strength to promote the game.

In a statement issued by the ECB, it wa1s told that the partners of all four teams will be allowed to operate from October 1,  (October 1)    2025. Many IPL teams have bought stakes in The Hundred in the last few months. These mainly include Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals. Regarding this deal, the ECB also said that an agreement is yet to be reached with 2 partners, which will be done as per the set conditions. RPSG Group, which owns the Lucknow Super Giants team in the IPL, has acquired a 70 percent stake in Manchester Originals in The Hundred.

Sunrisers acquired 100 percent stake

Sun TV Network, the owner of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in the IPL, has acquired 100 percent stake in the Northern Superchargers team in The Hundred. Let us tell you that Sunrisers Hyderabad also has a 100 percent stake in Sunrisers Eastern Cap in the SA20 played in South Africa. Apart from this, GMR Group, co-owner of the Delhi Capitals team, has got 49 percent stake in the Southern Brave team, while Reliance Group will get 49 percent stake in the Oval Invincibles team, which will be announced soon after all the conditions are met. Let us tell you that the upcoming season of The Hundred will start from August 5.
