New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has returned to India from England. The reason for his return to India is being cited as family reasons. According to reports, Gambhir’s mother suffered a heart attack due to which he had to leave the Indian cricket team captained by Shubman Gill in England and return.
The 5 match test series between India and England is going to start from 20th June. Before that, this is a big setback to the preparations of the Indian cricket team. According to reports, Gautam Gambhir’s mother has suffered a heart attack and is admitted in the hospital. She is being treated in the ICU in Delhi. There is no official information on this matter from Gambhir or BCCI yet.
Gautam Gambhir was appointed the coach of the Indian cricket team in all three formats in July 2024. Under his leadership, India lost the three-match home Test series against New Zealand 3-0. After this, the Border Gavaskar Trophy was lost 3-1 in Australia. This is Gautam Gambhir’s fourth Test series as a coach.
Gambhir will be seen in the England series along with the new Test captain of the Indian cricket team, Shubman Gill. After Gambhir’s return to India, the Indian cricket team will start its intra-squad match in Beckenham from today. This match will be a four-day match.
