Punjab batsmen performed brilliantly(Punjab ) 

IPL: In the Qualifier-2 of IPL 2025, Punjab  (Punjab )  Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets and qualified for the final, where they will face RCB. Batting first in the match, Mumbai scored 203 runs, after which Punjab easily achieved the target thanks to Shreyas Iyer’s half-century. Apart from him, Nehal Wadhera also batted strongly in the match.

Shreyas Iyer has taken three teams to the IPL so far

Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, the Punjab Kings team performed strongly and qualified for the playoffs by finishing first in the points table. Now the team has reached the final under his captaincy. Earlier, Delhi Capitals entered the finals in IPL 2020 and Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 under the captaincy of Iyer. Iyer has become the first captain in IPL to take three different teams to the finals. No one had been able to do this before him.

Shreyas Iyer hit a strong half-century

Prabhsimran Singh (6 runs) may not have played a big innings for Punjab Kings, but apart from him, Jos English, Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Vadhera presented a sample of good batting. English scored 20 runs in an over of deadly bowler Jasprit Bumrah. He contributed a total of 38 runs in the match. Vadhera played an innings of 48 runs in 29 balls. He took the Punjab team closer to the target. Shreyas Iyer stood firm at one end of the crease. He completed his half-century in 27 balls. Iyer scored 87 runs in 41 balls, which included five fours and 8 sixes. Mumbai bowlers flopped badly and could not perform well. Ashwini Kumar took the maximum two wickets for the team.

Mumbai scored 200 plus because of Surya

The start was not good for the Mumbai Indians team, when Rohit Sharma was out after scoring just 8 runs. After this, Jonny Bairstow (38 runs) and Tilak Verma tried to stay on the wicket for some time and made a partnership of 51 runs. After Bairstow was out, Suryakumar Yadav took the responsibility of scoring runs. He scored 44 runs in 26 balls, which included four fours and three sixes. Tilak Verma scored 44 runs. In the end, Naman Dheer scored 37 runs. It is because of these players that the Mumbai team was able to cross the score of 200 runs.
