IPL: The 36th match of IPL 2025 was spectacular. On one hand, while 14-year-old batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi surprised the cricket world with a bang, Lucknow (Lucknow ) Super Giants registered a thrilling win by 2 runs. Rajasthan’s young opener Vaibhav became the youngest player to debut in IPL. He did the great feat of hitting a six off the very first ball of his IPL career. He played an innings of 34 runs with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes in 20 balls. This stormy innings of Vaibhav gave a great start to Rajasthan Royals, due to which the Lucknow bowlers came under pressure and had to wait for the 9th over for the first wicket. Despite getting a great start, Rajasthan’s team faltered in the end and Lucknow’s dashing bowler Avesh Khan bowled tight in the last over to give his team a thrilling win.
Winning the toss and batting first, Lucknow Super Giants scored 180 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. The foundation of this score was laid by Aiden Markram and Ayush Badoni, while in the end Abdul Samad’s stormy batting worked to put the team in a strong position. Markram played an important innings of 66 runs with the help of five fours and three sixes in 45 balls and Badoni scored 50 runs in 34 balls. Both the batsmen together made a partnership of 76 runs for the fourth wicket. At the same time, Abdul Samad batted explosively in the last over and scored an unbeaten 30 runs in 10 balls. Samad hit four sixes to Sandeep Sharma in the last over. In this way, Lucknow’s team scored 180 runs.
Jaiswal hit a half-century
In response to Lucknow’s score, Yashasvi Jaiswal and 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi together started Rajasthan’s innings in a bang. Both of them shared an 85-run partnership for the first wicket. In the 9th over, Vaibhav became the victim of Aiden Markram. In the very next over, Nitish Rana got out cheaply and returned to the pavilion. After this, Jaiswal and captain Riyan Parag took charge and took the team’s score beyond 150. During this, Jaiswal was successful in completing his half-century.
Avesh Khan did wonders
At one time Rajasthan’s victory seemed easy, but Avesh Khan got Lucknow back in the match by dismissing Jaiswal (74) and Parag (39) in one over. After this the match became exciting. By 19 overs, Rajasthan had scored 172 runs for the loss of 4 wickets and needed 9 runs to win in the last over. Avesh Khan bowled an economical last over giving away just 6 runs. Thus, Lucknow defeated Rajasthan by 2 runs in their own home.
