Hindu voters should give proof that they are not Bangladeshis(Hindu ) a

Kolkata: Senior BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari on Monday alleged that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal is removing the names of Hindu  (Hindu ) and Hindi-speaking voters under the guise of removing the names of fake voters from the voter list. Addressing a press conference, Adhikari claimed that the names of many voters have been removed from the voter list since February 27.

‘Hindu voters are being forced to give proof’

Adhikari, leader of opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, said, “Names of Hindu voters are being removed from the voter list. I urge the Election Commission to sack the BDO of Krishnanagar.” The BJP leader claimed, “Hindu voters are being called and asked to prove that they are not Bangladeshis. Those who submit Form 7 are being forced to give proof.” He said the BJP will hold peaceful protests in Bagda and Krishnanagar, where the party has received the maximum number of complaints.

TMC rejects allegations

However, senior Trinamool Congress leader Jayprakash Majumdar dismissed Adhikari’s allegations as baseless. “The fact is that the BJP is involved in adding voters from Haryana and other states to West Bengal’s voter list. Now that the voter list scam has come to light, they are blaming us to divert attention,” he said.
