Kanpur: Sarfaraz Khan, who was released from the team after not being able to be a part of Team India’s playing eleven for the second match of the two-Test series between India and Bangladesh at Green Park, Kanpur, has created history. Sarfaraz Kha ( Sarfaraz Kha )  has scored a double century for Mumbai in the Irani Cup. Sarfaraz Khan faced 253 balls for his double century and he scored runs playing at a strike rate of 79.1. Sarfaraz completed his double century by taking a single off Prasiddha’s ball. With this, Sarfaraz Khan has also made a big record in his name.

In fact, in the history of Irani Cup, no Mumbai cricketer had been able to score a double century before Sarfaraz Khan. Since the inception of the Irani Cup in 1960, Mumbai (formerly Bombay) has won the title 13 times. But during this time, no Mumbai cricketer was able to score a double century. Sarfaraz is the first Mumbai cricketer to do so.

Sarfaraz Khan also made the record of the highest score by a Mumbai batsman in the history of the Irani Cup during his innings, which was earlier held by Ramnath Parkar, who had scored 195 runs in 1972.

With this, Sarfaraz has joined another special list. Sarfaraz has come fourth in the list of the youngest batsmen to score a double century in the Irani Cup. Ahead of Sarfaraz Khan are Yashasvi Jaiswal (21 years and 63 days), Praveen Amre (22 years and 80 days) and Gundappa Vishwanath (25 years and 255 days).

Apart from this, Sarfaraz is second among the Indian players who have the highest average after scoring 4 thousand and more runs in first class cricket. Vijay Merchant tops this list, who scored at an average of 81.8. While Sarfaraz Khan’s average is 69.6. Ajay Sharma is at the third place in this list, whose average was 68.7. Shantanu (average 63.1) is at the fourth place in the list, while Vijay Hazare (average 61.2) is at the fifth place in the list.

When Sarfaraz came to bat, Mumbai’s situation was bad. Mumbai had lost four wickets at a score of 139 against Rest of India. During this, Ajinkya Rahane was present at the crease after scoring a half-century. After this, he first made a century partnership with Rahane. Then he along with Tanush Kotian shared a 183-run partnership for the seventh wicket.
