3 Teams Secure Their Spots in the Playoffs   ( Playoffs ) 

IPL: The 63rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 was played at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, witnessing a fierce clash between the hosts, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Ultimately, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team emerged victorious. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets. With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad secured their place in the playoffs with 16 points. Moreover, Hyderabad’s victory also benefited the Gujarat Titans; thanks to SRH’s win, Gujarat Titans have also reached the playoffs with 16 points. Thus, three teams have now been confirmed for the IPL 2026 playoffs. Prior to this, Royal Challengers Bangalore became the first team to secure a playoff     ( Playoffs )   berth. Now, a battle ensues among five teams for the fourth playoff spot. These teams include Punjab Kings, RR, CSK, DC, and KKR. Mumbai Indians and LSG have already been eliminated from the tournament.

In this match played at Chepauk, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, the Chennai team successfully posted a total of 180 runs for the loss of 7 wickets within their allotted 20 overs. Klaasen was dismissed after scoring 47 runs, but Ishan Kishan managed to maintain the scoring momentum from the other end. By the time Ishan Kishan was dismissed in the 19th over—having scored 70 runs—the Hyderabad team was already on the verge of victory. Ultimately, Ravichandran smashed a boundary off the final ball of the 19th over to seal a magnificent victory for his team.
