Delhi: A major update has emerged regarding IPL 2026 ahead of the mini-auction. The 19th season ( Season ) of the IPL is likely to begin on March 26, 2026. The final could be played on May 31st. The mini-auction for the upcoming IPL season is scheduled for December 16th. In this auction, to be held in the UAE, 10 teams will bid on more than 350 players.
BCCI Informs All Franchises
According to a Cricbuzz report, IPL 2026 will run from March 26 to May 31. This decision was taken at a meeting of IPL franchises in Abu Dhabi, and the BCCI has informed all the franchises. The dates for IPL Season 19 were announced by the league’s CEO, Hemang Amin, during a briefing before the auction on Tuesday. Traditionally, the first match is played at the home ground of the defending champions, but it is still uncertain whether matches will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium next season.
19 Players Added to the Auction Pool
With this, the total number of players in the auction register has now increased to 369. 19 more players have been added to the auction pool. These 19 players are Abhimanyu Easwaran, Mani Shankar Murasingh, Veerandeep Singh, Chama Milind, KL Srijith, Ethan Bosch, Chris Green, Swastik Chikara, Rahul Raj Namala, Virat Singh, Tripuresh Singh, Kyle Verreynne, Blessing Muzarabani, Ben Sears, Rajesh Mohanty, Swastik Samal, Saransh Jain, Suraj Sangaraju, and Tanmay Agarwal.
IPL and PSL to Start on the Same Date
With the IPL dates announced, it has become clear that both the IPL and PSL tournaments will start on the same day. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 will also begin on March 26th. This information was provided by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. It’s worth noting that something similar happened last year as well. However, this will be the first time that both leagues will start on the same date.
