Delhi: Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law and well-known businessman Robert Vadra’s troubles have increased. In fact, the Enforcement Directorate has filed a charge sheet against Robert Vadra in the Gurugram land scam case. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has targeted the central government on this matter. He wrote on Twitter, ‘My brother-in-law ( brother-in-law ) has been harassed by this government for the last ten years. This latest charge sheet is another part of the same conspiracy. I am with Robert, Priyanka and their children as they face another attack of malicious, politically motivated defamation and harassment. I know that they are all brave enough to face any kind of harassment and they will continue to do so with dignity. Ultimately the truth will prevail.’
Many properties of Robert Vadra seized
It is worth mentioning that a total of 43 immovable properties of Robert Vadra and his companies like Skylight Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. have been seized. Vadra’s company Skylight Hospitality bought 3.53 acres of land for Rs 7.5 crore in 2008. This land was bought in Shikhopur, Gurugram. According to the allegations, the same amount of land was sold for Rs 58 crore without completing the project. Robert Vadra has been made an accused in the charge sheet. In this case, the ED had questioned Robert Vadra for more than 18 hours. Along with Robert Vadra, many other Congress leaders of Haryana were also questioned in this case.
What is the whole matter?
Let us tell you that on 1 September 2018, Gurugram Police had registered an FIR (No. 288) in which it was alleged that Robert Vadra had fraudulently purchased 3.53 acres of land in Shikohpur village (Sector 83) of Gurugram through his company Sky Light Hospitality Private Limited. He had purchased this land from Omkareshwar Properties Pvt. Ltd. on 12 February 2008 and is accused of giving false documentary statement in this. It is also alleged that Vadra also obtained a commercial license for this land by using his personal influence. Now in this case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a provisional attachment order on 16 July 2025. Under this, a total of 43 immovable properties of Robert Vadra and his companies like Sky Light Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. worth Rs 37.64 crore have been attached. After this, on 17 July 2025, a charge sheet (Prosecution Complaint) has been filed against 11 people/institutions in this case in Rouse Avenue Court, New Delhi.
